NaVCIS - OPERATION FREIGHT
NaVCIS freight officer Mike Dawber has this week been assisting Cheshire Police in a recovery named - Operation FREIGHT.
On Saturday 15th August 2020, Cheshire Police responded to an address in Neston, Cheshire in relation to a stolen HGV trailer whose tracking device was active.
On arrival, not only was the trailer discovered, but 3 outstanding stolen HGV Tractor units, 3 additional trailers, 1 stolen Ford Transit van and numerous pallets of stolen property including construction machinery parts, were recovered. In addition, 110 blank registration plates and a number plate making machine were also seized.
The NaVCIS National Freight Crime Database was used to identify the stolen parts - some of which related to a theft in North Wales.
NaVCIS is assisting Cheshire Police with the on-going investigation.
