CESAR SECURITY MARKING SCHEME CRIME PREVENTION INITIATIVE!
CITS member, The Official CESAR Scheme are offering Farmers and residents living in rural communities in North East Derbyshire the opportunity to take advantage of a time limited 50% discount offer to protect their ATV's, tractors, trailers and 4x4 vehicles with Datatag and the Official CESAR Security Marking Scheme.
Derbyshire Police Rural Crime Team have joined forces with Bolsover District Council, North East Derbyshire District Council and B&B Tractors to help tackle the rise in thefts of ATV's and associated farm machinery in the local area by creating a subsidy fund to reduce the cost of the powerful CESAR Security Marking Scheme.
The Official CESAR Security Marking Scheme owned by CITS members the CEA and AEA, is supported by the Home Office and National Police Chiefs Council and is fitted as standard to most large agricultural machinery.
Protected machines and vehicles are fitted with highly visible, tamper-evident identification plates, tiny radio frequency transponders and hundreds of microscopic microdots in a forensic DNA marking solution. The machines are then registered on a secure 24 hour accessible database that police can access anytime, day or night. The security marking technologies mean that any police officer can quickly and easily identify a suspected machine, check if it is report stolen, or indeed contact the proper keeper to check if the machine should be out.
The discount initiative is being administered by the CESAR Scheme commercial partner Datatag ID Ltd., with the installation service provided by one of the county's biggest agricultural dealer groups B&B Tractors.
PC Emerson Buckingham from Derbyshire Police's Rural Crime team is delighted that the initiative has been launched, "Supporting the rural communities of North East Derbyshire in targeting crime is a priority for our team and this initiative will help farmers ensure that their ATV's and farm machines are easily identifiable by the police."
"This makes them far less attractive to criminals who are well aware of the difficulty in proving that a non-security marked machine is stolen. Fitting CESAR and Datatag will make any ATV, tractor or trailer much less of a target." explained PC Buckingham.
Andrew Walker, Group After sales Manager for B&B Tractors is delighted that his company have been able to support this initiative, "B&B Tractors have always been an integral part of the farming community around where our branches are located and we understand how critical farm machinery - tractors, ATV's and trailers - are to helping them do their jobs. When they get stolen, the impact can be far reaching and impactful," explained Andrew.
"As an AGCO dealer selling Massey Ferguson, Fendt and Valtra tractors, many of these already come fitted with CESAR from new, so we are well aware of the power of the system as a theft deterrent. We are delighted to have been asked so support this initiative and install CESAR Security on essential farm machinery of any make and protect them from theft."
