£600,000 STOLEN MACHINERY RECOVERED
The NaVCIS Rural team attended a Bedfordshire location with Northants Rural Crime officer, PC Hutchings, after he had received an enquiry relating to stolen machinery. Whilst the officers were at the property, numerous items were found and identified to have been either stolen or fitted with false identification.
A total of 20 items of machinery were recovered, including 4 which were identified using the CESAR security marking technology.
The items recovered included: 2 tractors - including a vintage 1959 Massey Ferguson; 2 plant trailers; 5 road rollers; 1 9tonne dumper; and 10 excavators ranging from 1.5 tonne up to 14 tonnes. All of the items have been identified and linked to thefts from Hertfordshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, West Midlands and West Yorkshire Police Force areas.
3 people were arrested.
