BEN BURGESS AND CITS HOLDS SUCCESSFUL POLICE TRAINING DAY EVENT
The Combined Industry Theft Solutions (CITS) group, in partnership with Ben Burgess agricultural team held a successful police training day in Ellington!
On October 17th CITS, in conjunction with Ben Burgess Farming in Ellington, held a special police training event, for 40 officers, from five East of England forces.
The officers attended a full day's training, which was delivered by specialist training officers, Christopher Piggott, of The National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) and Police Liaison officer Vincent Laine of Datatag ID, to learn about the current threats around Plant and Agricultural machinery theft.
The event involved various presentations outlining various risks and offered practical tips on how to identify stolen plant, which included outdoor demos on machinery identification.
CITS chairman Ian Elliott, opened the event and Chis Papworth Branch manager of Ben Burgess, welcomed the officers to the impressive Ben Burgess facilities, expressing how pleased he was to support such an important event.
Farming communities have seen a significant rise in theft over the years, and these types of special training events enable officers to learn the most up to date knowledge to tackle crime.
The event was also supported by industry schemes, CESAR, and MicoCESAR, both systems are used for the identification of machinery, and aid the police in recovering stolen machinery and equipment
The feedback from the day has been excellent.
CITS have ran a series of training events throughout the year, and have a further event planned at Hitachi, in November, further details can be found on the CITS website www.cits.uk.com
