NaVCIS SUPPORTS RECOVERY OF OVER £250,000 VEHICLES IN A SINGLE DAY
The NaVCIS Rural unit assisted Northamptonshire police in two separate raids on March 17th.
The first raid was to a scrap metal yard, where Environment Agency representatives also attended. The nine vehicles seized were four quad bikes, two vans on false number plates, two Ford low-loaders, and a Land Rover Defender. The approximate value of the vehicles was over £100,000.
Vehicle parts found at a commercial property in Corby, resulted in officers visiting there, where nine stolen Mercedes Sprinters had been dismantled, a stolen Kawasaki Ninja Motorcycle and a Lexus vehicle were identified. All the vehicles had been stolen from the West Midlands area and had an approximate value of £150,000.
Three people were arrested.
GPS jamming devices were discovered at both locations.
Investigations are on-going.
