NCSC ENCOURAGES CYBER-VIGILANCE DURING RUSSIA-UKRAINE CONFLICT

Earlier this year, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) suggested UK organisations bolster their cyber defences in response to the heightened threat in relation to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In the months since NCSC published its guidance, there has been significant cyber activity in Ukraine – and the NCSC is reminding UK organisations to maintain their cyber resilience.

The NCSC recognises that this puts considerable pressure on an organisation’s systems, its processes and, ultimately, its workforce, where reports indicate skilled workers are leaving the profession due to increasing stress levels. With this in mind, the NCSC has this week published new guidance in maintaining a strengthened cyber security posture in a sustainable way.

It contains advice for business leaders and managers about how to manage the residual risk from an extended period of heightened cyber threat whilst prioritising staff wellbeing.

This guidance is the latest in an ongoing package of support from the NCSC in relation to the war in Ukraine.
