SURREY SCAMMERS STEAL £500,000 WORTH OF PLANT MACHINERY

CITS is asking to help identify Scammers in police hunt

This week, BBC News and other outlets have reported a scam in which £500,000 construction machinery were stolen. Scammers represented themselves as a legitimate construction company and had the machinery delivered to addresses in Surrey between 14 and 21 January.

The police are appealing for witnesses who saw a large amount of machinery being towed in the areas of Shepperton, Chertsey and Virginia Water. The machinery included, a three-tonne dumper and a 17-tonne excavator - which itself was worth £185,000.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident. Do you know these people?

If you have any information about the suspects or saw the machinery movements, then please contact Surrey Police on 101.
