JCB MINI DIGGER AND WEIDEMANN LOADALL STOLEN IN WARWICKSHIRE!

Two large construction machines on hire to a site in Warwickshire were stolen from a nearby storage site on 13th October 2023.

The hirer, giving his name as Sean Charnley of SMC Groundworks, had taken the equipment from the construction site to a nearby farm for storage, although it's now evident the kit was moved to facilitate the subsequent theft.

The hirer paid the initial rental and delivery costs by bank transfer but then did not continue the payments, for the extension of hire to 1st November 2023. The hire company became aware of the theft when attempting to call Mr Charnley, to either confirm the extension or arrange collection. He either refused to answer or ended the call when the hire company announced themselves.

The stolen equipment:

JCB 65R, 6 Tonne Midi Digger
- Serial Number: JCB065R1AG1914370

Weidemann T5522, 2.2 Tonne Loadall
- Serial Number: 3074132
- Registration Number: BN71DVP

The items were taken from Court Farm, Long Marston, Warwickshire. The farm owners provided a legitimate storage service and were not involved in the theft.

The crime was reported to Warwickshire Police and has been assigned Crime Reference Number: 23/47408/23. If you have any information for the police please contact them here.

If this individual or company attempts to hire from one of your outlets please contact your local police, or notify the Opal Agricultural & Construction Equipment (ACE) policing unit at opal@westmercia.police.uk.
