STAY ALERT - FRAUDULENT HIRE
Three individuals giving their names as Gary Wright, Jimmy Dewis, and James Marshall are fraudulently hiring equipment under the company name - Informa Markets based in London. Informa Markets is a legitimate company, but is being used as a front. The delivery site address for any hired equipment is Meek Street, Oldham, Lancashire.
These individuals provide very authentic looking credentials, including landline phone numbers per department (procurement, finance, even a site contact), together with insurance documents.
The following equipment was recently ordered from several hire companies and reported as suspicious or stolen:
- Heras Fencing
- 40kva Generators
- Ground Mats
- Air Conditioning Units
Fortunately the deception was detected and the hires either did not proceed or the equipment was recovered.
The crime was reported to Greater Manchester Police who assigned crime reference number 2436. The individuals behind the crimes are known to them.
