A plant, tools and equipment hire company in Lancashire has had a GP1300 HONDA 4HP 325mm petrol plate compactor stolen when what appeared to be a genuine customer failed to return the equipment.
A gentleman giving his name as Wayne Seddon of Streamline Projects UK in Atherton, Greater Manchester, opened a trade account and paid the initial hire costs with a credit card. The hire commenced on Wednesday 14th August and Mr Seddon collected the equipment from the depot in person.
On 22nd August Mr Seddon advised by email that he would like to extend the hire but offered no payment. Since this date Mr Seddon has been unresponsive to phone calls, voicemail messages and emails, and owes over £1,200 in outstanding hire costs. On 20th September Mr Seddon was advised that the outstanding debt would be passed to a debt-collection service, he has still not offered any response.
The plate compactor has been reported stolen to Greater Manchester Police who have assigned crime reference number: CRI/06LL/0027621/24.
If Mr Seddon attempts to hire from you please take caution.
